"The notion that our lives succeed or fail one conversation at a time is at once commensical and revolutionary." - Ken Blanchard
Are you communicating effectively?
Our leadership effectiveness is directly related to the measure of our ability to influence ourselves as well as others. If communication is ineffective, there are fewer possibilities for the relationship and fewer possibilities for the individuals in the relationship. At Excelerate we hold this core belief about influence - the more effective we are in our communications the more we can influence our successes.
Build a Culture of Communication
What is communication? Most people reply to this question by describing techniques including speaking, writing or body language. What is often left out and equally important is listening, specifically effective listening. In the process of communicating we send and receive many messages. There are the messages we intend to send, the messages we actually send and the messages as the recipient(s) perceive them. There is also the response of the recipient based on how the message was interpreted and our own reaction to this interaction. When we understand there is much more to communication than words, we can begin to build a culture of communication. Building a culture of effective communication builds trust and enhances productivity.
